Decision summary:

Warwickshire Police to utilise JLR location ( Castle Farm)  as a training venue for firearms. This decision notice is to approve the legal agreement of use of the land at JLR.

Warwickshire Police Firearms Training Unit has been seeking out potential locations to utilise for training across the county. A void premises owned by JLR ( Castle Farm) has been identified as a suitable location.

Use of an appropriate location for firearms training for officers.

Unable to deliver training for Police Officers.

There is no associated cost. JLR have confirmed there is no fee.

6. Equality considerations

Police Officers are expected to be able to travel around the county, and JLR is suitably located. There appears to be no detriment to those attending courses that is identifiable.

7. Legal comments

The agreement has been reviewed by Warwickshire Police Head of Legal Services and deemed appropriate to proceed.

8. Social or Environmental considerations

This arrangement may result in more travel throughout the county for some course attendees, however will be an addition to appropriate firearms training venues/locations.
