Joint Audit and Standards Committee

In view of the Strategic Alliance between the two forces, Warwickshire and West Mercia have a Joint Audit Committee across police force areas, which  considers internal and external audit reports of both of the Police and Crime Commissioners and the Chief Constables.  From January 2019, the Committee will also consider standards, including police ethics and transparency.

The committee, which meets 3- 4 times a year, comprises 8 independent members, two of whom lead on standards.

Committee Members

The Joint Audit Committee comprises the following four independent members:

  • Lynne Duffy ACMA (Chair)
  • John Anderson
  • Sanjay Bhasin
  • Alan Day
  • Martin King
  • Gavin McArthur

(Two further committee members to be appointed)

Meeting dates and background papers

The Audit Committee usually meets four times in each financial year. (The first meeting took place in June 2013).  Details of meeting dates and the papers from previous meetings are available on the West Mercia Police and Crime Commissioner’s website.
