The Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner works with a wide range of organisations to deliver his police and crime plan and create a safer, more secure Warwickshire. The below list is by no means exhaustive, but illustrates some of the key organisations we work with. Please also see our Commissioner’s Grants page and the Our Initiatives section for more information about some of the services we commission or provide funding to.
Warwickshire has both a county council and district and borough councils, all of which work closely with the OPCC, police and other services to improve community safety.
There are also hundreds more town and parish councils at a local level. Many of these belong to the Warwickshire and West Midlands Association of Local Councils (WALC).
In Warwickshire, there are four also CSPs covering the five districts and boroughs. The OPCC is represented on each one.
- South Warwickshire Community Safety partnership (covering Stratford and Warwick areas)
- Rugby Community Safety Partnership
- North Warwickshire Community Safety Partnership
- Nuneaton and Bedworth Safer Communities Partnership
The Commissioner has a statutory duty to co-operate with local authorities and have regard of each others priorities when it comes to reducing and preventing crime and disorder. The PCC also has a monitoring function for the partnership’s work. Since April 2013, all government funding previously awarded to partnerships has been reallocated to the Commissioner for him to determine how it should be spent.
Safe in Warwickshire is brought to you by the multi-agency Safer Warwickshire Partnership Board. Its aim is to reduce crime and disorder and promote safety in Warwickshire by providing support, advice and leadership to our partners and communities. The agencies involved include Warwickshire County Council, Warwickshire Police, Warwickshire Fire & Rescue Service, Warwickshire’s Probation Services, North Warwickshire Borough Council, Nuneaton & Bedworth Borough Council, Rugby Borough Council, Stratford District Council, Warwick District Council, health partners and voluntary sector organisations.
