Independent member of the Joint Audit and Standards Committee

Do you want to help scrutinise the way your policing finances operate?  Could you offer a strong and independent voice on corporate governance affairs?  Do you have significant skills and experience in dealing with ethical issues?

The Police and Crime Commissioner and the Chief Constable for Warwickshire are looking for a politically neutral individual with good understanding and experience of public sector legislation and guidance to join existing members of the Joint Audit and Standards Committee.

The Committee reviews and scrutinises the affairs of the PCC’s office and the Warwickshire Force.  Issues considered by the Committee include, risk management, internal control, corporate governance, standards and ethics.

Applicants are required to be over the age of 18 and must live or work in or have close connections to Warwickshire.  They must be able to attend meetings at the Warwickshire Police site at Leek Wootton, during the working day.  Meetings will be held approximately four to five times a year.  Successful applicants will be subject to a police vetting check.  Serving police officers and police staff are not eligible for this role.

The successful applicants will receive training and an annual allowance including expenses for travel to meetings.  Meetings are normally held on a quarterly basis with some additional meetings in between.

The closing date for applications is 12 noon on Thursday 12 August 2021.
