Warwickshire Police and Crime Commissioner Philip Seccombe said: “I and Warwickshire Police are listening closely to the comments being made by the victim in the case and the concerns she has raised, and would welcome the opportunity to discuss these with her directly.
“I have asked the Chief Constable for an explanation of how the investigation was carried out so I can better understand the issues being raised and what has happened.
“A key priority in the Police and Crime Plan is to put victims first; I am committed to ensuring that victims of crime in Warwickshire are treated fairly and that effective and proportionate investigations are carried out. If, as it appears, on this occasion the force has failed to meet the high standards that I know it aspires to, it is my role to hold them to account and work with them to ensure any issues are addressed.”
