Apply for a grant for 2023/24

Grants recipients stand with the Commissioner and a giant cheque

Grants award winners from 2022 – apply now for 2023/24 grants.

The Commissioner’s Grants Scheme aims to fund projects that will reduce crime, support victims and make communities safer.

For 2023/24 Warwickshire Police and Crime Commissioner Philip Seccombe has made several funding streams available for organisations to bid against:

  • Small Grants Scheme (£1,000-£15,000 per application)
  • Community Safety Partnerships Priority Fund (£1,000-£15,000 per application) – available for CSPs only to bid
  • Road Safety Fund (£1,000-£15,000 per application)

This year, the Police and Crime Commissioner is seeking applications from schemes which support the following overarching themes:

  • Prevention: targeting the causes of criminality and/or anti-social behaviour, seeking to break the generational cycle of offending to prevent it from occurring in the first place.

and/or

  • Diversion: supporting individuals who have already begun a journey of perpetrating crime and/or anti-social behaviour, but who, armed with the right knowledge, understanding and commitment, can be diverted from this path towards a brighter future.

Projects, pilots and initiatives under the theme of Prevention and Diversion will also need to address one of more of the priorities in the Police and Crime Plan. The Commissioner is particularly interested in receiving proposals that address the Police and Crime Plan ‘focus areas’ of Violent Crime, Violence Against Women and Girls, and Vulnerability.

Organisations are able to submit multiple bids to the schemes.  Each application will be evaluated separately.

Projects funded by the Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner under the grants scheme must be delivered with the 2023/24 financial year and therefore can be for 12 months or less.

Who can apply?

Applications will be welcomed from both established and new community, voluntary, third sector and statutory organisations that deliver projects or services at a countywide level, or for projects that are targeted in one or more local authority areas within Warwickshire.

There is a requirement that all applicant organisations:-

  • have at least 3 years of audited accounts;
  • are able to provide the last year’s audited accounts;
  • provide appropriate policies and practices as detailed in Section 6 of the application form
  • complete a Subsidy Allowance Declaration form in accordance with the Trade and Cooperation Agreement (TCA).

The OPCC encourages collaborative approaches to applications and encourages organisations to identify how they support and work with their local Community Safety Partnership (CSP). Applications will not be accepted from Warwickshire Police as a single/lead agency but are welcome as part of a collaborative bid.

We will not support applications which would bring the PCC’s reputation into disrepute.
